Surely, everyone will be expecting something sleek and cool from Apple.
Which of the following do u think will mostly likely be true to be Apple iPhone? 1)
Mac Fan is a typical mac magazine published monthly in Japan. The December issues is now featuring the elegant and beautiful Miss Universe 1st runner up, Miss Chibana Kurara.
Miss Chibana is featured in her tradtional custome , the Okinawan custume, which is pretty close to the chinese custome (cheong-sam). Anyway, no matter what she wears, she is still one of the most beautiful Japanese woman I have ever seen. (inner beauty and outer beauty).
Chibana owns 2 Mac computer, a PowerBook G4 and a white MacBook. She also has her own BLOG (Japanese).BLOG (English)
P/S: I am not a Mac Fan magazine fan, but I bought it, because Chibana stands out at the magazine stand TOO!

Microsoft Zune being upstaged by iShuffle (CNN video)
Zune hopes to beat iPod domination of the digital music world on day oneof its debut. Many anti-Apple guys live that dream as well.
Well, that big Zune is being pathetically being upstaged by little tiny iShuffle. Watch this news from CNN on the Microsoft Zune, ...."why dont they get some decent design people to design this chunky".
How To Play iTunes Music Store Preview Continuously
iTunes store is a gigantic library of songs. And the good thing is that, you can actually have 30 seconds of free listening to those songs. But, to manually click each songs is just too troublesome, forget it. Wait.
Well, there is a solution to this. Thanks to "ITunes Music Store Player" that allows automatic continous playing of iTunes free listening.
Imagine, by searching "jazz", you will have more than a hundred songs, and each can play for free for 30 sec, that means you will have exactly 30x100=3000 secs or 50 minutes of free Jazz..
Cool!
How about going to Top Song in iTunes Music Store (iTMS )? Yes, another free flow of top songs unstopped. (I am doing that now, while writing this post).
This player can also be used to preview all your library songs. You can even set the length of each preview. A handy tools for person like me who never finish listening to a song.
Sony released PS3 on Monday, and made a sold out of 90 000 units before noon.!! Of course there are people who buy it to make money, yes, they resell it.
My friend told me that PS3 bidding is hot now in Yahoo Auction, with some willing to may more than 100 times or more than the original price.
2 models of the new PS3 are: 1) the cheaper version with 20GB hard drive, no wi-fi and will cost 49,980 yen (410 dollar) or (RM 1550) 2) the 60G, with wi-fi cost 60 000 yen, (500 dollar) or (RM 1860).
You can follow this hot auction in Yahoo to see how crazy Japanese "otaku" are willing to pay for it.
Usually, transfering movie clips to iPod would mean lots of file converting work, etc.
How about transferring your favourite TV drama, or any TV shows, sports news, or even your favourite TV advertisement?
In this case, of course we would either need a TV recorder connected to the Mac, or a TV HD recoder. Both ways again means lots of file converting (time consuming), and file transfering between medias (in the latter case).
iLuv is the solution to those messy works, it can actually record your favourite TV shows directly to your iPod, without your Mac or PC. Yes it is so simple, just connect the Composite cable from your TV, or HD recorder one press on the record button and done.
You can also choose to record in 640x640 pixels or 320x320 pixels. ONE MORE THING iLuv can be also used for 1)direct transfer from your DV videocam (by S-Video cable) 2)record from your VCR, that means you can convert those analog video into digital form 3)it can be used as your iPod charger too !
Now,dont worry about missing your drama again, you can watch it in your iPod while travelling to work on the train or bus.
iLuv is a product by a Japanese company IMJ, costs about 20,000 yen or $190.
Co-Founder of Apple Steve Wozniak = Love His Humour
Steve Jobs may be good in marketing Apple products, but this guy, the co-founder of Apple, together with Jobs back in the Apple garage in 1976, creating Apple I and Apple II, is really funny.. From the way he talks to the steel bussiness card he has, no wonder they called him Woz, The Wizard of Woz.
A Japanese company invented a mastrubation instrument for woman, called gPod.. This invention really made those people in Applee angry. Read this excrpt from macnn, "A small Japanese firm is facing potential legal action from Apple in response to the controversial naming of one of its products, according to a report today by Mainichi Daily News. Osaka-based businessman Ichiro Kameda says he has been repeatedly contacted by Apple legal representatives who have asked him to change the name of his as yet unavailable gPod female sex aid, citing the clear similarity of its naming scheme to that of the American company's iPod music player. The aid's trademark was previously approved by Japanese authorities in October of 2005, and was expected to stand until Kameda applied for a worldwide trademark -- which drew the attention of Apple's legal department. Despite warnings from Apple that he will be "forced to take all sorts of legal measures" should he release the product, Kameda insists that he will ship the gPod by the end of November.
Apple itself has so far declined to make any statements regarding the situation. "It's company policy not to comment on legal cases," an Apple spokesman told Mainichi. The iPod-maker is already engaged in numerous trademark disputes with companies in the U.S. and abroad that have offered similarly-named products which are not directly related to the iPod itself.
How to use gPod? Connect to your iPOd, and it will vibrate according to the music tempo. Price ? a Whopping Yen 25000 or about $200 dollar.
I do not know if today is the first day the Japanese version of the Apple Commercial is aired. Anyway, I was a bit surprise that the actors are actually the Rahmen's guys. They are a group of Japanese comedian.
For those who do not know Rahmen, I posted here their famous comedy about Japanese Sushi in the last video.
Well, back to the commercial. Here they are. Thank you YOUTUBE
Mac:---Hi, i am Mac PC.:---Hello i am PC Mac:---Oh iPod, what are u listening to ? PC.:---Eurobeat. Mac:---Eurobeat ? PC.:---Ahh.. Ipod is really good and iTunes is easy to use too. We can enjoy Podcast as well. Mac:---Mac is as easy as iPod. Thanks to iLife that comes with mac, we can manage and enjoy our photos and movies easily.

I got my first Ipod last year. I was a 512Mb Ipod Shuffle. Actually I didn't actually buy it, as I think 512 Mb is barely enough to put my list of favourite Top 100 song. It was a promotion gift from Yahoo BB, an internet provider in Japan. Of course the suscription fees didnt come cheap, for 50Mb speed ADSL, I have to pay almost 6000yen, or about 50 dollar, or RM180. I cancelled the agreement 2 months after subsription. (How cheap I am)
Well, now I am really happy with my 1 month old iPod Nano. With, 4G capacity, it is enough for me to store my Top 400 songs, with rooms too for some Photos, and other files (acting like a USB stick). Why I like it so much? It is just a music Player. Well.. here is my verdict 1) Small but not too small to hold and put it in any pocket. 2) Search function is intergrated. 3) Nice range of color to select. 4) Very need, slick design compared to many other music player.
There is no video playback or Ipod advanced game capability- I dont need it actually, as the only time I use my ipod is the bus, train or on my bicycle. Unless you want to impress someone , then a Ipod Nano is a very decent music player.
PS : I ordered mine directed from Apple Store Japan. But, since they dont have their own courier service, the delivery was not fast. It took about one week after placing my order through the internet. I wonder if Amazon is faster than Apple Store since they are the "Big Brother" of internet shopping.
Year 2006 is coming to its end soon, and it is time for us to review the best gadget of the year. Time magazine lists out 8 gadget of year 2006. I am happy that Apple made it too!! Here is the list
1)Logitech VX Revolution Mouse I have seen it in real. Really cool
2) Sanyo HD 1 Digital Camera HD video camera recorded in SD card. err enough for that HD size?
3) Apple MacBook Pro !!
4) Nintendo DS Lite
In Japan, this thing is a HIT. I see every kids having one. The brain training game is kind of tricky. and, it is in Japanese..alas
5) Logitech Wireless DJ A remote control that can browse through your music collection in your PC. 6) Nike+Ipod Sport Kit Cool - But I dont have that Nike shoe.
7) Garmin Street Pilot c550 Works like a Japanese handphone. Better still a Japanese Handphone than this.At least, the Japanese handphone is small and you can watch short TV show.
I wanted to get a laptop myself for so long....! I think now is the best time to get a MacBook, as it has just been updated to CORE 2 Duo. YES! it is CORE 2 Duo, and still comes CHEAP. (1.8Ghz Core 2 Duo for $1049 dollar, with Education discount, in Japan it is selling at ¥130,014) or (2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo with 1G memory for $1199, or ¥148,614)
I don't know the price in Malaysia at this moment, but doing the conversion from Japanese yen, it should be RM4062 and RM4644.
I went to the computer store in my university yesterday checking out the MacBook, and in their display line, all the MacBook were booting WINDOW XP. I played with once of the Black MackBook, and Windows works snappily.
The new MacBook CORE 2 Duo will be a BEST Christmas gift this season, at least for myself.
Are you tired of the same tile game widget in OS Tiger? Actually you can change the image of the tile game pretty easily.
Here are the steps
1) Go to the following directory to copy the Tile Game widget, ~/Library/Widgets
2) Paste the widget on the desktop.
3) Right click or Control+Click, and open "Show Package Content"
4) In the content, go to folder name "Image", where you will see the "Tiger image" file named "game.png"
5) This image file size is 144x144 pixels, and type PNG 6) Therefore, just choose any picture you like and save them as PNG file (Photoshop or Preview) and named them as "game.png", of course set the image size to 144x144 pixels 7) Replace that "Tiger Image" with your new image (remember to name it as "game.png" as well) 8) Now, click on that modified widgets on the desktop, and Install . 9) You should be able to play your new tile game.
NOTE: Since we do not rename the widgets, we might get confused with the original tile game. Temporarily both tile game will have the same name as "Tile Game", but the new "Tile Game" will be stored in your User/Library/Widgets. (Users is usually your home, or name of the user) You can just replaced the image if you think you get bored with that new image.
Today's post has nothing to do with mac. Try this during your coffee break. *** Ever face situation where you do not know which cubicle is the best to pee from a row cubicles? Try this funny flash game. It is kind of funny coz I only scored 2/6. Ha ha ha
Personally, I think that knowing Apple history is part of getting yourself into the world of mac computer. Back in the 1984, when the first computer with "mouse" was introduced by Apple really made Mac different from any PC at that time. First developed by Douglas Englebart of the Stanford Research Institute, the point-and-click interface replaced the cumbersome commands of MS-DOS with an intuitive, elegant means of interaction. One might presume that the mouse was such a brilliant idea that it was inevitable the Mac would succeed. (but that computer, named LISA failed)
Today, of course, mouse is ubiquitous in all PC. But if the Mac had fizzled on introduction, we might still all be typing our commands in MS-DOS. The hypertext linkage of the World-Wide Web might have never been possible. Or perhaps, another system, such as pen-based or touch-screen computing, might have emerged in the place of the mouse. !!
Don't miss this historically important ad, the ad of 1984 !
One of Mac feature that still keep it a par ahead of Window or Linux is its beautiful icons and anti-aliased fonts that blend smoothly with the background with shadows. Thanks to power of Quartz Extreme.
Here are some icons that I personnally like it. It is pretty easy to change icon of a folder, or almost anything in Mac. 1) Copy the new icon you have just downloaded, just press Control+C (apple+C). 1) Choose the folder you want to change the icon 2) In Get Info window, click on the icon . You can get the Get Info window by right click on the folder, and choose "get info". 3) Paste the new icon (Control+V). 4) You are done!
Here are some of the sites where you can download the icons. I love icons 1) Fasticon
